How will this role contribute to the growth of the Cook community?
Catherine Cook School seeks a passionate and engaging Volleyball Coach. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe team environment where students can grow both athletically and personally. The ideal candidate is confident leading groups of student-athletics (Grades 5-8), experienced in coaching youth sports, and able to design engaging practices, develop game strategies, and model outstanding sportsmanship while supporting the mission and values of Catherine Cook School.

Provide clear instruction, encouragement, and feedback while helping students develop athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Prioritize student safety and well-being, including appropriate supervision and awareness of individual health needs such as asthma and allergies.

Communicate effectively and collaborate with other coaches, supervisors, parents, referees, and school staff to foster a positive community experience.

Adapt well to changing schedules, needs, and circumstances while maintaining a student-centered approach.

Support event organization by preparing spaces, setting up activities, and managing student attendance procedures.

Model and demonstrate athletic skills, techniques, and positive sportsmanship as appropriate.
What is the salary range for this position?
In compliance with the Illinois Equal Pay Act, the compensation for this position is $3,000 for the two-month season, paid in two installments.
